I am the second of six children in my family. To provide for us, my mother worked tirelessly—tapping rubber trees before dawn and picking coffee beans during the day, with hardly any time to rest.
Watching her carry the weight of our family through sheer determination taught me a lesson early in life: when a woman is not strong, life will not be gentle with her.
Growing up in poverty also planted a deep conviction in my heart—I never wanted my own children to live a life of settling for less.
Today, I am the mother of three children while also caring for my mother, who is living with dementia. Her cognitive abilities have declined to those of a four- or five-year-old child, and many everyday tasks must be patiently taught and repeated.
Caring for someone with dementia is an emotional journey that demands tremendous patience. You find yourself explaining the same things over and over again while constantly reminding yourself that love is more than a feeling—it is a commitment and a responsibility.
In 2014, while pregnant with my youngest daughter, I faced the greatest life-and-death challenge of my life. Due to placenta accreta, I had to undergo an emergency hysterectomy during childbirth. I went into shock for ten minutes, and the surgery also affected my brain function and cognitive abilities.
When I woke up, I realized I was no longer the same person.
Tasks that had once come naturally became difficult. My reactions slowed, my confidence collapsed, and I constantly questioned my own abilities. Faced with the judgment and misunderstanding of colleagues, I often hid in a corner and cried alone.
In 2016, I made the courageous decision to resign from my job and pursue an online business full-time.
Starting with absolutely no experience, I dedicated myself to learning. Within three months, I had built a team and earned my first significant income.
When I stood on stage in 2017, I believed life would continue moving upward.
But in 2018, everything changed.
My team disbanded, and everything I had built disappeared.
This setback hurt even more because I had already experienced success—yet I still lost it all.
Instead of giving up, I told myself, “Where I fall is where I will rise again.”
That same year, I joined April 22.
I thought it would be a fresh beginning, but the disappointment from my previous failure continued to haunt me. I was overwhelmed by negativity, self-doubt, and fear. Even though I was recognized in my very first year and continued to achieve success year after year, no one knew that those two to three years were among the darkest seasons of my life.
Thankfully, during my lowest moments, my younger sister stood by my side. She encouraged me, believed in me, and patiently helped me rebuild my confidence one step at a time.
In 2020, through the income I earned from my online business, I purchased a double-storey house and hired an interior designer to create the home I had always dreamed of.
In 2024, I was able to send my daughter overseas to pursue her university education.
In 2025, I bought my very own car under my own name.
To many people, these may seem like ordinary achievements.
But to me, each one is proof that I kept moving forward despite every setback.
Through all these experiences, I have come to understand one profound truth:
A woman’s true strength is not found in never crying.
It is found in wiping away her tears and choosing, again and again, to keep moving forward for the people she loves.
I am Jing Yu.
To everyone who has ever been wounded by life, I hope you never stop believing this:
The wounds that did not break you will one day become the light that guides your life.
