My story began in a small neighbourhood bakery.

In 1986, my parents started their business from scratch — baking bread by hand,
and by 1995, transforming it into a cookie manufacturing factory.

I grew up in that factory, surrounded by the aroma of butter and the determination of my parents, who built their dream brick by brick.

As a child, I studied in an English-medium school until my parents transferred me to a Chinese primary school.
I couldn’t read a single Chinese character and failed every exam at first.
But I told myself — if I don’t know, I’ll learn.

By graduation, I earned a B+, proving that with heart and effort, nothing is impossible.

After university, I joined the family business and learned everything from raw material sourcing to production and exports.
Then, in 2018, my father passed away within a fortnight.
Overnight, I went from being a daughter to the one who had to lead.

As a young woman in a male-dominated industry, I faced doubts and challenges, but each obstacle made me stronger and wiser.

When the pandemic hit, I had to pivot once again — transforming Fonfood from a traditional B2B model to B2C, building online channels and driving product innovation.

From classic butter cookies, we expanded into sugar-free ranges for health-conscious consumers, and later introduced KHYLICIOUS, a bold line of savory cookies that challenged the belief that cookies must be sweet.

I believe that innovation is not a betrayal of tradition — it is how tradition continues to live.

Today, I carry on my father’s legacy with one simple belief:
Good quality builds trust.
Continuous learning creates infinite possibilities.

Life is full of possibilities.
Don’t fear small beginnings or difficult journeys —
as long as you never give up, your light will shine.
