Profession: Senior Legal Clerk

I was born in a small fishing village in Balik Pulau, Penang. Growing up with fragile health and physical challenges, I have always chosen to face life’s imperfections with courage and kindness. Throughout my journey, I hold firmly to the belief that “it is more blessed to give than to receive” and often remind myself: “No act of kindness is too small to be done.”

During the pandemic, I spent my own savings to purchase materials and taught myself to make protective face shields, which I donated to hospitals and prison facilities. Later, I visited schools to teach students how to handcraft reusable masks and storage pouches—helping them learn gratitude and understand the importance of giving back. This simple act of compassion eventually sparked an international donation campaign that delivered medical supplies to Malaysian frontliners.

Despite my physical limitations, I never allowed them to define me. Through my actions, I hope to show that “even the most ordinary person can become someone’s light of hope.”

Beyond my full-time work as a Senior Legal Clerk, I volunteer with a foundation to coordinate online tuition programs for underprivileged students. I am also actively involved in various community and social organizations, and I serve as a parent representative in my school’s Board of Governors and Parent-Teacher Association, continuing to promote educational and welfare initiatives while maintaining my regular blood donations—a simple yet powerful way to extend the gift of life.

Over the years, I have embodied compassion through consistent action, lighting the paths of others with resilience and grace. I believe that helping others is also a way to heal myself. In lighting the way for others, I too shine with a gentle yet unwavering glow.

“When we light up others, we also illuminate ourselves.”
