《A woman must continue to grow. The moment you begin to believe in yourself, your life will slowly transform.》

[From Homemaker to Mompreneur: How I Found Myself Again]
— The Story of Debbie Chew

At the age of 20, I became a mother.

Because I was focused on taking care of my family and children, I went without a job—and an income of my own—for a long time. As time went by, my self-confidence gradually eroded.

Whenever I thought about returning to work, my husband would ask:
“If you go out to work, can you really earn four to five thousand?”
Those words deeply shook what little confidence I had left, filling me with self-doubt.

I started to feel powerless and worthless, believing my only place was at home as a wife and mother. Slowly, I became disconnected from society and fearful of social interactions. I would hide in my room whenever strangers visited, and even simple conversations made me anxious. Trapped in an endless daily routine, I lost my sense of self and felt as though my life had no direction.

Then came a turning point. By chance, I stumbled upon a beauty education platform on Facebook, and a fellow member invited me to a free sharing session.

That single, modest act of courage reshaped my life. For the first time, I experienced a supportive community of women who uplifted and encouraged one another. Nobody looked down on me, and nobody dismissed my worth.

Instead, it made me believe: “I, too, can become a better version of myself.”

From then on, I began learning how to express myself, communicate effectively, and rebuild my confidence step by step. In 2012, my close friend and I co-founded GDream Wellness House. Looking back on this journey, what I am most grateful for is having a partner who truly believed in me and walked beside me as I grew.

She never looked down on me for being a stay-at-home mother. Instead, when I was at my lowest, she steadily guided me forward. I went from being too timid to speak up to independently serving clients, sharing professional knowledge, and helping others improve their health and regain their confidence.

That was when I realized: I was never meant to stay standing still. Even if a woman has lost her way or lost her confidence, as long as she is willing to embrace change, she can shine once again.

I truly believe that the hardships we endure in life are not meant to break us, but to teach us how to become braver.
