《Believing in the Power of Belief: Creating a Fulfilling Life Through Deep Sleep and Compassion》
Hello everyone, I am Angrid Chua, founder of HOMIE and an advocate for deep sleep living. I have always believed in one core ethos: “Believe in the power of belief, and action will create miracles.”
Today, HOMIE boasts nearly a hundred employees, ISO-certified manufacturing facilities, and professional OEM production capabilities. We have also been honored with numerous Malaysian corporate accolades, including the Nanyang Golden Eagle Award, the Self-Made Entrepreneur Award, and the Light of Perak Award. Yet, few know that our journey began not in a corporate office, but at a Pasar Malam (night market). With no capital, no background, and no resources, my husband and I built today’s business step by step—starting with a single folding table and one customer at a time. Along the way, we had our share of arguments, lost our direction, and even came close to giving up. However, we constantly reminded each other: “No matter how successful a business is, if you lose your family, success loses its meaning.” From the very beginning, I believed that a business should create value beyond profit. That is why we launched our CSR Home Sewer Initiative, providing employment opportunities to single mothers, full-time homemakers, and seniors—empowering them to earn a stable income while continuing to care for their families.
I have always maintained that sleep is more than just rest; it is the foundation of health and happiness. Driven by this conviction, we founded TUYA, a natural deep-sleep brand based on the philosophy:
“Bedding doesn’t just cover you; it cradles you into better health.”
We do not merely sell bedding; we aspire to bring natural deep sleep, health restorative power, and a higher quality of life to every household.
Beyond business, I am dedicated to giving back to my hometown. To that end, I founded the Taiping Young Force to bridge youth with society, ensuring that more young people are seen, heard, and empowered to shape their future. Looking ahead, I plan to become a certified corporate trainer to share nearly two decades of entrepreneurial experience, business management, brand strategy, and life lessons with emerging businesses and the next generation. I hope to help them avoid unnecessary pitfalls, cultivate courage, and empower every woman to believe in herself and realize her true worth.
