《From Searching For Security To Becoming A Source Of Strength》
If you know me today, you may see someone who is focused, determined and clear about where she is going.
Today, I work in capital advisory, equity and financing planning, as well as private fundraising, connecting with entrepreneurs, investors and the capital market every day.
But few people know that before becoming who I am today, I was once a young woman constantly searching for security and uncertain about the future.
I came from Penang and moved alone to Kuala Lumpur in search of greater opportunities.
The moment I stepped outside my comfort zone, I was confronted not only by an unfamiliar city, but also by the loneliness of entrepreneurship, unstable income and repeated uncertainty about what the future would bring.
While others seemed able to fall asleep peacefully, there were nights when I stayed awake, overwhelmed by uncertainty and questioning myself again and again.
Later, I entered the capital market — a field that had long been dominated by men.
Working alongside business leaders, investors and financial professionals taught me something important:
For a woman to earn genuine respect, she must continuously strengthen her professional capabilities and build trust through competence.
That experience changed the way I understood competition.
True competition has never been about gender. It is about value.
And true security is not something given to us by the outside world.
It comes from the capabilities, confidence and experience we build through continuous growth.
Over the years, I have been involved in corporate financing, equity planning, private fundraising and IPO-related projects.
I have witnessed how capital can help businesses break through growth bottlenecks, and I have also seen promising companies lose opportunities because they lacked strategic foresight and proper planning.
These experiences gradually shaped my mission.
Capital is not merely the movement of money. It is a tool for creating value.
Financing is not simply about solving a company’s immediate financial needs. When used with clarity and purpose, it can help entrepreneurs realise their vision and build the future they once imagined.
Looking back, my greatest achievement has not been a single business milestone.
It has been the transformation within myself.
I moved from searching for security to creating value.
From fearing failure to embracing challenges.
From longing for recognition to developing the ability to empower others.
That journey taught me that growth is not only about becoming stronger for ourselves.
At its best, growth allows us to become a source of strength for others.
Looking ahead, I hope that when people talk about the capital market, they will not only see successful companies and financial transactions, but also recognise the influence women can bring to this professional arena.
I believe the capital market should never be a stage reserved for a select few.
It is a world open to everyone who is willing to learn, take responsibility and continuously improve.
If you are going through a difficult season in your life, do not define yourself too quickly.
Every challenge is shaping your maturity.
Every moment of perseverance is building the foundation of your future.
Keep believing in yourself. Keep refining your abilities.
One day, you may realise that the person who once searched everywhere for light has already become the light illuminating someone else’s path.
