《Living a Life of Purpose Through Responsibility and Perseverance》

A realtor based in Penang Island Malaysia, with 8 years experience in the real estate industry, assist landlords/sellers/tenants/buyers/investors in sell/rent/buy their ideal property units, residential/commercial/industrial, MM2H, migration, relocation, local and international market.

I was born into a traditional Chinese family. My father operated a small business while my mother was a dedicated housewife. Growing up with four siblings, I witnessed my parents work tirelessly every day to provide for the family. Despite our financial struggles and the occasional humiliation from friends, relatives, and neighbours, my parents never gave up.

Their sacrifices deeply shaped my character. From a young age, I was an obedient daughter and a diligent student. Academic excellence became my pathway to a better future, and earning a place at university was the ultimate goal I set for myself.

After graduation, I stepped into the corporate world with great aspirations. However, life did not unfold as I had imagined. Just five months after my graduation, my father passed away unexpectedly. It remains one of the greatest regrets of my life that he was unable to witness the achievements he had worked so hard to make possible.

My father’s passing left my mother devastated and emotionally fragile. At that moment, I made a promise to myself—to care for her for the rest of her life.

After several years in the corporate sector, I pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and later transitioned into the education industry. This career change was largely influenced by my mother’s declining health. She suffered from diabetes, hypertension, and osteoarthritis, requiring frequent visits to government hospitals and clinics. Compared to the corporate environment, the education sector offered a more structured schedule and lower stress, allowing me to better support her daily needs.

Although I dedicated twelve years to education, the financial rewards were limited, and the journey was often challenging. When my mother was later diagnosed with dementia and early-stage Alzheimer’s disease, I could no longer leave her alone at home as I once had.

Through a friend’s recommendation, I ventured into the real estate industry. My initial motivation was simple: to find a career that would allow me to balance caregiving responsibilities while earning a sustainable income. What began as a practical decision gradually evolved into a meaningful profession.

When my mother passed away in 2019, I took time to reflect deeply on my future. Ultimately, I chose to remain in the real estate industry because of its flexibility, growth potential, and ability to help me build a secure retirement fund.

At 55 years old and still single, I may not face the challenges that many married women encounter, such as raising children or managing family obligations. However, I have my own responsibilities—maintaining my health, planning for financial security, and preparing for a fulfilling life well into my later years.

Looking back, I realize that much of my life was devoted to caring for my mother. In doing so, I sacrificed many opportunities, personal freedoms, and dreams. Yet I have no regrets. Those experiences shaped the person I am today—resilient, disciplined, goal-oriented, and committed to living with integrity.

Today, I am finally embracing a life of my own choosing. My vision is to build a team of 20 professional real estate agents who can grow alongside me. With a strong team and sustainable passive income, I hope to travel the world, connect with people from different cultures, and enjoy a meaningful and secure retirement.

My journey has taught me that success is not defined by how quickly we reach our destination, but by the courage, perseverance, and purpose we carry along the way.
