There was a time I believed that marriage was a woman’s final destination for happiness. My ex-husband did not have any bad habits like gambling or drinking, yet years of emotional neglect and verbal abuse slowly crushed my confidence. Those invisible wounds were heavier than arguments and harder to heal. Each word of doubt made me question myself — “Am I not good enough?”
One day, when I saw my daughter crying because of our arguments, I realized this was not the kind of home I wanted her to grow up in. Leaving wasn’t an act of impulse; it was an act of courage. I chose to walk away and start over — not as a victim, but as a woman who decided to take control of her own story.
“Marriage should be built on mutual respect and understanding.” Being a single mother is not a tragedy; it’s simply a different path — one that awakens the courage within and allows our children to see what strength and love truly look like.
In 2017, I founded Zoey’s Homemade, naming it after my daughter — the very reason I began this journey. What started as a mother’s wish to cook safe, wholesome food for her child became a heartfelt mission: to create healthy meals for all families, made with love and without compromise.
