Twenty years ago, I made the right choice — one that allowed me to transform my life and create brilliance. As the saying goes, “Riding the trend — the times create heroes.” Choosing the right trending industry is truly crucial.
I still remember 2004, as we entered the Year of the Earth. I had the fortune of meeting eight other outstanding women. We shared a common vision, worked hand in hand, and together achieved a record-breaking revenue of 2.2 billion! That same year, I was honored with the Asia-Pacific Top 50 Women Entrepreneur Leadership Award and the World Chinese Charity Fund Award.
Looking back, I realize our success was not just because of our capabilities, but also because we were blessed to have chosen the right industry — one with tremendous potential. That decision made us a sensation throughout Malaysia, and together, we built a kingdom of Numbers filled with hope.
I’m Nycoll Ong, a senior corporate brand consultant and personality instructor from Penang, Malaysia. My father has 15 siblings, and my mother has 8 — so I grew up surrounded by a big, lively family. My childhood was simple — there were no smartphones or video games, only chickens, ducks, pigs, cows, and goats.
No Barbie dolls either — just memories of catching loaches, playing marbles, and climbing trees.
Although we were not wealthy, my parents were wise. They always believed, “No matter how poor you are, never deprive your children of education.” They saved diligently to give us the best education possible. The bookstore was the place they took me most often, and it gradually nurtured my love for reading. I am deeply grateful to my parents — their love and care shaped who I am today. I lived up to their expectations and completed my Advanced Diploma in Hotel Catering and Management in Switzerland.
From working as a hotel manager to owning three restaurants, then becoming a personality instructor and finally a senior corporate branding consultant — my journey was far from smooth. In my 30s, I left home to explore opportunities in Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, and China.
One of the most painful experiences in my career was being betrayed by a senior I deeply trusted. That incident left me with a debt of one million. I was terrified, lost, and filled with fear. Being in a foreign country, I couldn’t bring myself to worry my parents, so I bore the pain alone. It was a dark time — but that experience became a turning point in my life.
When God closes one door, He opens another. At my lowest point, I met a mentor who changed my destiny. Through their guidance, I gathered the courage to rebuild my life.
From that incident, I learned that I would rather gain things through honest means than through deceit. Integrity matters more than profit. Never harm others for your own benefit. As the saying goes:
“A gentleman seeks wealth in a proper way.”
“Do not do to others what you do not want done to you.”
“It is better to take the straight path than the crooked one.”
Those who harm others for personal gain will ultimately harm themselves.
I am especially grateful to my mentor for teaching me: “Suffering a loss is a blessing,” and “A cup of gold or silver is not worth a good name.” Material wealth may fade, but a good reputation lasts forever. A person who never seeks profit at the expense of others will always earn lasting respect and trust — and that is the greatest wealth of all.
From that moment, I made a vow — to spend the rest of my life supporting and empowering others, lighting the way for those in darkness. This is how C Life Channel (Heart to Heart Sharing in Chinese）was born — a platform connecting entrepreneurs, integrating resources, and co-creating an ecosystem that transforms destinies.
As we enter the era of Nine Purple Fire Luck, my dear sisters, you are no longer alone. We are awakening — rising together. Let us unite our strength, form alliances, and shine with our charm, our power, and our purpose.
