I lost my ten year husband in an instant in 2019. At the time, I had to take care of my elderly parents, feed my three small children such as two, three and five years old, run a dental practice and support a staff that relied on me. The Movement Control Order (MCO) and the epidemic soon followed , the strain of all these difficulties was nearly unbearable. However, I knew I had to persevere. The “little bird” me of the past could only move forward; there was no turning back.
I used to be an introvert who suffered with public speaking but I had to mature because of life’s burdens. I started to gain strength, leadership and the ability to keep going in spite of suffering. Along the process, I consistently challenged myself to reach new heights in addition to running my clinic. I started off as a dentist in an unassuming dental clinic before rising to the position of TVET dental assistant trainer and President of BNI Achievers at April 2024 to April 2025. I received the following award today:
Best Caring Doctor, Women Entrepreneur Award- Business Integrity Award, JCI Malaysia Sustainable Development Award – SDG No. 4 – Quality Education, Empowering Education Award – Malaysia’s 1st TVET in Dental Clinic Assistance.
I can now talk and make contributions in front of thousands of people with confidence. Although I won’t claim to be extremely wealthy right now, I can state with confidence that I’m determined to achieve success.
I’ve learned from this experience that even the most excruciating pain in life may be a catalyst for change.
I want to let you know that you are not alone whether you are grieving the loss of a spouse or are feeling overburdened by life’s responsibilities. Have faith in yourself. There will always be a fresh dawn, even if you aren’t able to see it at the moment. I want to utilize my experience as a woman to inspire you: we can all overcome adversity and succeed in our own way, little by little.
P/S: Now I have found my second spring who loves and cares for me
