《What You Choose to See Is What You Attract》

Some say that life is a series of choices; I believe that life, above all, is defined by what you choose to see.

When I was a child, my parents ran a small shop. Back in those days, there were no computers or databases—only a thick notebook that recorded the most precious bond between people: trust. Whenever regular customers forgot their cash, my parents would smile and say, “No worries, just pay us next time you pass by.” My father would then jot down a few characters in Traditional Chinese that only he could decipher. That scene remains vivid in my memory—not because he was logging a debt, but because he was recording trust. What he gained wasn’t just business, but a lifetime of goodwill. From that moment on, I learned my very first lesson in life: trust others, and be worthy of their trust.

After graduating from university, I stepped into the financial and risk planning industry. From personal and family protection to corporate risk management, family trusts, and business succession, more than two decades have passed in the blink of an eye. I have always believed that what we safeguard is far more than a policy—it is the fortitude of a family and a business as they face the future.

Over the years, I have witnessed many pivotal moments in life. A young father passed away unexpectedly, but because he had planned ahead, he truly left love behind rather than debt, giving his family hope to carry on amidst sorrow. A sudden flood brought a company’s operations to a standstill, but the insurance payout helped the business rise from the ashes. These lived experiences have only reinforced my sense of mission: true value lies not in sales targets achieved, but in securing a future for a family or a enterprise when they need it most.

Looking back on this journey, I have never considered myself exceptionally gifted. I have simply been fortunate enough to cross paths with clients who believed in me, a team that grew alongside me, and mentors who opened doors for me at different stages of my life. It is precisely their trust that has allowed me to continuously grow.

Many years ago, a Taiwanese mentor shared a sentence with me: “In every occurrence, there is a positive side that works in my favor.” This wisdom has anchored me through every summit and valley, teaching me that optimism is not an innate trait—it is a choice.

It is not that darkness does not exist in the world; rather, I choose to keep my eyes fixed on the light. Believe in beauty, and beauty will walk toward you; believe in yourself, and the future will unfold before you. What you choose to see is what you attract. May we all become the beacon of light in our own lives.
