《After Half A Lifetime, I Finally Learned To Include Myself In Love》

Hello everyone, I’m Stephanie from Ipoh.

Having worked deeply in the real estate industry for over two years, I have long been seen in the eyes of others as an independent, capable “woman of strength.” Throughout this journey, I led teams and built my career, while always placing family as the highest priority in my life. At one point, I carried the weight of seven family members and two companies on my shoulder—accustomed to taking care of everyone else’s needs and emotions, yet always forgetting to ask myself: “Stephanie, are you doing okay?”

Prolonged burden and relentless giving gradually helped me understand one truth: no matter how strong a woman is, she must learn to care for herself.

Four years ago, I made a brave choice—I stepped away from my familiar environment to give myself room to pause, reflect, and reset. That turning point was not an act of giving up on love; rather, it taught me a crucial life lesson: a truly enduring love must never exclude oneself.

In the past, I believed that giving was purely a matter of responsibility. Only later did I realize that loving oneself isn’t about stopping your care for others—it is about honoring your own feelings and emotions, and reserving space for self-compassion while you take care of those around you.

As I gradually let go of the obligations and expectations I once felt compelled to carry, I discovered that “letting go” isn’t a loss. Instead, it gifts us the lightness and strength to move forward again.

Looking back at over two decades of my career, one thing has never changed—my deep joy in helping others.

In real estate, I helped clients find a place to call home. Through over ten years of community and philanthropic work, I strove to support those in need. Now, stepping into the realm of women’s wellness, my vision is to help more women honor their health, regain their confidence, and relearn how to love themselves deeply.

At this stage in my life, my drive to grow remains unbroken. I have begun learning AI and new media, courageously stepping into unfamiliar domains while sharing my journey with other women. I aspire to continuously elevate myself as a speaker and AI coach, using my own growth as a light to brighten the path for others.

In leading teams, I always remind myself: To lead others well, first lead yourself. By holding onto positive energy, staying grounded in gratitude, honoring my roots, and keeping my core intentions intact, I aim to lead by example through consistent words and actions.

Walking through the high peaks and low valleys of life, I am deeply thankful for the family, friends, and mentors who have stood by me. But above all, I am grateful to Stephanie—the one who stumbled along the way, yet never gave up on herself.

Today, I firmly believe that age is never a boundary to growth. A woman’s true strength lies in her capacity for self-healing, her courage to stay resilient, and her enduring warmth to uplift others even after coming into her own.

To every woman striving to grow upward: while you love your family, your career, and the people around you, may you always remember—include yourself in love.
