《A Cup of Coffee That Carries More Than Flavor, But Three Generations of Purpose》

For many people, coffee is simply a daily beverage. For me, it represents the dedication, warmth, and legacy of a family business that has endured for over 67 years across three generations.

In 1958, my grandfather migrated from Hainan, China, to Malaysia. Starting as an apprentice in a coffee shop, he gradually built his own traditional coffee business in Johor, through hard work and perseverance. From roasting coffee beans and caramelizing sugar to brewing an authentic cup of Nanyang coffee, his craftsmanship not only provided for our family but also became the most treasured heritage passed down through generations.

In the 1970s, my father took over the business. Today, I am proud to continue the journey as the third-generation successor.

As a child, I spent much of my time in our coffee shop, watching people of different races, ages, and backgrounds gather around a table to enjoy coffee and share conversations. It was there that I learned coffee was never just a business. It was a bridge that connected people and a reflection of Malaysia’s unique culture, hospitality, and community spirit.

With this belief, I founded and manage Sin Bee King Coffee , with the vision of preserving heritage coffee culture through a modern approach and bringing it to a wider audience. Our brand has been operating online for more than three years, and we are actively exploring export opportunities and international expansion.

In product development, we remain committed to traditional brewed coffee rather than instant coffee. We believe that a truly good cup of coffee should preserve its natural aroma, depth, and character. Many customers are pleasantly surprised when they first try of our coffee, discovering that coffee can be smooth, balanced, and enjoyable without excessive bitterness or acidity.

We proudly use locally sourced coffee beans to support Malaysian farmers and incorporate the rare Liberica coffee bean , which accounts for less than 1% of global coffee production. This unique bean contributes a richer and more distinctive aroma to our blends. We also use palm oil (non-dehydrogenated) instead of margerine and conduct laboratory testing to reduce and optimize sugar levels, ensuring a healthier coffee experience for consumers.

The entrepreneurial journey is never easy. As a woman entrepreneur, I have learned to constantly balance family responsibilities, business growth, and personal development. Through this experience, I have come to realize that a woman’s greatest strength does not lie in being perfect, but in her willingness to keep learning, adapting, and moving forward despite challenges and uncertainties.

I hope to encourage more women, whether they are homemakers, professionals, or business owners, to never stop growing. A skill, a craft, or even a small step of courage can become the beginning of a life-changing journey.

Today, I oversee the brand’s marketing and future development, while my parents continue to safeguard and operate our traditional coffee shop. Together, we strive to find the balance between heritage and innovation, ensuring that the story of our family business continues for generations to come.

At the same time, as a mother of two, I deeply treasure the opportunity to grow alongside my children. I often bring them to markets and brand events so they can witness firsthand the value of hard work, responsibility, and perseverance.

My name is Josephine Goo.
I believe that every woman who embraces life with determination and continues striving toward her goals will eventually find her own stage to shine. Through a simple cup of coffee, I hope to continue sharing the warmth, passion, and heritage that have been passed down through my family for generations.
