《I Hate to Lose, But I’d Rather Win Together》
If I had to describe my younger self in two words, it would be unyielding. Whenever someone told me “you can’t,” my instant reaction was always: “Why not?”
I was blessed to grow up in a home filled with unconditional love. My mother was a woman of incredible foresight. Whenever I wanted to try something new, she never boxed me in with limitations. Instead, she backed me up with action, telling me: “If you love it, go for it.” My grandfather was the same. The warmth and affection in his eyes gave me an unwavering belief from a young age that I was unique. This solid foundation of love instilled a deep-seated courage in me—a complete lack of fear—and taught me an essential truth early on: a person’s mindset can alter the course of a family, but a woman’s mindset can shift the trajectory of generations.
In my younger years, I craved validation. My primary goal was to achieve success at all costs just to prove my worth. But life handed me a brutally tough exam. I endured personal betrayals, business set-backs, lost directions, and the cold indifference and disdain of people I once knew. At my lowest point, I even began to doubt myself. It wasn’t until I saw the heartache in my family’s eyes that I snapped out of it: I could never let the people who love me worry like this. I want to build a life where they can thrive because of me! Beyond that, giving up simply isn’t in my DNA. You only get one life, and since I’m here, I’m going to play to win.
As an entrepreneur, my path has been a continuous cycle of taking leaps, making mistakes, and growing stronger. My habit has always been to seize an opportunity first and map out the terrain later. If I don’t know something, I learn it. If I don’t understand, I ask. Even when fear sets in, I push through and do it anyway. Falling down time and again forged my most solid sense of confidence: true security doesn’t lie in the wealth you hold today, but in the unshakable ability to rise, rebuild, and reinvent yourself no matter where life drops you.
In the past, I strived to prove that I was capable. Today, my mission is to help other women become capable. So many women don’t lack talent—they simply have never been helped to see their true worth. What lights me up most is discovering the hidden brilliance in women—shining a light on strengths they didn’t even realize they possessed—and guiding them as they convert that innate value into real skill, turn skill into financial independence, and transform financial independence into absolute freedom of choice in life. I don’t just want to tell a woman “you can do it”; I want to walk alongside her and show her how it’s done.
Today, I still hold a deep appreciation for the finer things in life. When the pressure builds up, I might treat myself to a bag I’ve had my eye on—a sweet reminder that “the things you love don’t come cheap, so keep grinding.” Then I collect myself, put my best foot forward, and head back out with my head held high the next day. You can allow yourself to feel emotions, but you must never lose sight of your destination. The life I want is actually quite simple: financial security in my hands, love in my heart, my loved ones by my side, living peacefully, joyfully, beautifully, meaningfully, and with vibrant energy.
I used to think the ultimate goal in life was self-accomplishment. Today, I know with absolute certainty that my true calling is elevating other women. If one day, a woman looks back on her journey and says, “Meeting Nicole that year changed the rest of my life,” that will mean immeasurably more to me than any financial success ever could.
Because when one woman awakens, she transforms a family; when a community of women awaken, they have the power to transform an era.
