《Because Life Is Truly Beautiful, and the Scenery Along the Way Is Even More Captivating》
Many people often ask me: “As a trainer and a mother of four, how on earth do you balance family and career?”
In truth, I have never believed that life is a zero-sum game where one must be sacrificed for the other.
I have always believed that life is like a jigsaw puzzle. Career, family, health, friendships, and personal growth are all essential pieces. A truly fulfilling life is not about making one piece disproportionately large, but about mindfully nurturing every aspect until they fit together to form your own complete picture.
I once lost my way. Back then, I was constantly chasing, striving, aiming for the peak of my career while also longing for a harmonious family life. On the surface, I was moving forward continuously, but inside, I grew increasingly exhausted. To push my work forward, I cut back on time with my family; to hit every target, I spent countlessly late nights working, burning out, and even straining my health.
Until one day, I asked myself: “Is this truly the life I want?”
The answer was crystal clear—no.
I began to realize that coming into this world is essentially embarking on a journey. There is scenery worth appreciating, people worth treasuring, and different stages waiting for us to experience along the way. If we spend our entire lives chasing a single goal, we might win in our career, only to miss out on the most precious things in life.
And so, I began learning to intentionally manage my life and re-examine the meaning of “home.”
Home is not merely a physical residence; it is my ultimate sanctuary. It allows me to let down my guard when tired and empowers me when I am ready to set off again. Relationships are never something to be taken for granted; they require care, understanding, and communication. Once I learned to look at things from different perspectives, my family relationships improved, and I gradually reclaimed my balance.
Some ask me: “Does having four children affect your career?”
My answer is quite the opposite.
Children have never been an obstacle in my professional pursuit; they are the driving force pushing me forward. I hope they see not just a hardworking mother, but a woman who can chase her dreams, realize her self-worth, and simultaneously love her family deeply, take good care of herself, and cherish life.
I believe more firmly than ever: career can realize our value, while family serves as the foundation of who we are.
Life does not require every single piece to score a 100. What matters is that when looking back one day, my life’s puzzle contains career, family, love, health, personal growth, and a self that was never lost along the way.
Finally, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to my husband, Jack Ong. Thank you for your companionship, understanding, and selfless support—allowing me to know that on the path to pursuing my dreams, I am never walking alone.
I would also like to leave a message for every woman working hard out there:
Don’t just rush toward the destination; remember to take in the scenery along the way.
